Peter B. Lucas, MBA
Pete is the grandson of founder and dermatome designer Jim Petersen.
Peter B. Lucas received his MBA with a dual emphasis in Operations Management & Leadership from the Bloch School of Business & Public Administration at the University of Missouri, Kansas city. For ten years, Pete worked in manufacturing with Herff Jones, a leader in educational recognition products, where he helped to implement, then supervised their state-of-the-art digital imaging department.
During his time with JE Petersen, Pete has overseen the adoption of an ISO 13485 quality system and improved production throughput by more than 300%. He is a medical device patent holder. During his tenure, JE Petersen has more than doubled top-line revenue and simultaneously lowered costs.
Pete has been listed in Who’s Who of Professional Management and is a member Omicron Delta Epsilon, Zeta Chapter of Missouri (honor society in Economics), ASQ, and the Association for Operations Management (APICS). Pete served two terms on the Bloch School Alumni Board, and has taught Master’s level Operations Management courses at the University of Missouri, Kansas City’s Bloch School. He is currently working on a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems to supplement his technical project management skills.
He is an avid photographer on and off the job. Pete is also a musician in his free time, and serves as the music director and pianist for a North Kansas City church. He lives in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Nicole and their four daughters.
